In this topic you'll learn the main window of the video player program and its various parts. Detailed instructions of other functions are covered under subsequent topics.
The main window of the video player program looks as shown below.
The Menu bar
The Menubar and its menus is are the places where you can access and perform most of the functions of the video player. Position the mouse over a menu item and its associated menu drops down reveals the options as shown below for the File menu.
You can also invoke the menus using the Alt key of your keyboard plus the first letter of a menu. For example to invoke the File menu press Alt on your keyboard and press F while holding it down Inside a menu you can select an option by either clicking it with the mouse or using speedkey combinations indicated beside a menu option. For instance to open a New project press the Control (Ctrl) key and holding it down with N on your keyboard. Note that to use a speedkey you need not open a menu.
Also once a menu is open you can perform any of the functions in that menu by pressing the underlined letter of that function on your keyboard.
The Toolbar
Several important functions of the Menubar are displayed using the same icons as in the menus conveniently below the menubar on a Toolbar. To find out what these buttons stand for simply hover your mouse pointer on any of them and a tool tip will indicate their function.
Project Editor
There are three distinct panels under Project Editor. They are:
The Player Skin
This panel displays the skin of the player.
The Main Information
This panel displays video and author information, You can also use the Settings button to change the advance setting.
The Video Playlist
This panel displays video list and it’s information, length / size etc., you can add or remove video here.
Video Archive
Under Video Archive tab, the panel shows a list of video. You can add the video from your windows and store the files here.
Preview & Edit
This panel previews the video and you can enter video’s title / comments here.
